What started with one 3D printer bought for our son has grown into a little family business and, unexpectedly, something I absolutely love.
With a bit of help from us and plenty of orders, our son managed to save enough from his 3D-printing adventures to buy himself a PS5. Somewhere along the way, though, I caught the 3D-printing bug too!
I became fascinated by the process of designing and creating things from scratch, learning how to make designs work for 3D printing and, perhaps most importantly, figuring out what went wrong when they didn't! There is something incredibly satisfying about taking an idea on a screen and turning it into something you can actually hold in your hand.
Filament Fox is all about cunning little creations — quirky, fun, personal and practical things that we think are worth making.
From personalised keychains and bag tags to earrings, photo frames and useful everyday items, we're always looking for something new to create. I tend to choose designs based on things I personally like, and I particularly enjoy shorter prints where you don't have to wait forever to see the finished result.
Every item is personally prepared, printed, finished and packaged by me. We're a small, one-person business, so we're not trying to produce thousands of identical products. We're here to have fun, try new ideas, learn along the way and hopefully create something you'll love.
