Caring for your 3D-printed PLA products

Our products are made using PLA (polylactic acid), a commonly used 3D-printing material.

PLA is lightweight and suitable for many decorative and everyday-use products, but it is sensitive to heat.

Please avoid:

  • Leaving products in direct sunlight for extended periods
  • Leaving products in a hot car
  • Placing products near radiators, heaters or other heat sources
  • Hot water
  • Dishwashers
  • Excessive bending, twisting or pressure

High temperatures can cause PLA to soften, deform or warp.

Cleaning

If your item needs cleaning, gently wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth.

Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners and very hot water.

Allow the item to dry naturally before storing it.

Storage

When not being used, store your item somewhere cool and dry and preferably away from prolonged direct sunlight.

About 3D printing

3D printing produces objects layer by layer. Because of this manufacturing process, each item may have small characteristics that are unique to that particular print.

You may notice:

  • Fine layer lines
  • Small surface marks
  • Slight variations in texture
  • Minor variations between prints
  • Small differences around edges or fine details

These are normal characteristics of 3D printing and do not necessarily indicate a printing fault.

Please note: The appearance of the rear or underside of some products may differ from the front. Certain designs may naturally produce visible hatching, infill or layer patterns on surfaces that are not intended to be the main visible face. This is a result of the design and printing process and is not necessarily a print fault.

As each item is individually produced, no two prints are guaranteed to look exactly the same.

Colour variations

Colours shown on the website may appear slightly different from the actual product due to differences in mobile phone screens, computer monitors and other displays.

The same filament colour may also show subtle differences depending on lighting and photography conditions.
